INdirect tax manager

Location: Prague

Contract: full time, permanent

The responsibilities & the impact YOU will have:

  • Responsible for indirect tax compliance for EMEA MedTech & Pharma
  • Manage the external co-source agent to ensure timely tax compliance and collaborate on KPIs and data analytics insights, taking into account business partner needs
  • Drive process and control simplification in collaboration with Global Service Centre, Country Tax Centers, and external co-source service agent.
  • Provide indirect tax input in a variety of projects and stakeholder interactions.
  • Deploy best practices, manage risk, and remain current with industry developments in indirect tax.
  • Operates as key contact for designated business partners and support tax projects
  • Owns analytical work and independently manages delegated projects
  • Works with internal and external experts to develop solutions

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong combination of ownership, business understanding and a willingness to be hands-on on all aspects of indirect tax. The person will be part of the EMEA indirect tax team of dedicated professionals, collaborating and partnering with various J&J tax teams and business partners.

Qualifications

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have:

  • 5-8 + years of relevant experience
  • Deep indirect tax technical knowledge, experience with working with global service centers and managing external co-sourcing agents to meet tax compliance
  • Experience in driving process improvements is a strong preference
  • Financial and factual analytical abilities (data, fact patterns, external tax/legal frameworks)
  • Strong written work
  • Excellent business partnering and communication skills – the ability to communicate highly technical matters to non-specialist business partners around the world
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills with all J&J sectors/functions and regions
  • Independent and highly productive manager, capable of owning and progressing projects/processes independently whilst keeping teams informed on progress and recognizing sensitive areas/decision points which require management input
  • Ability to switch priorities quickly and expedite key tasks to meet business needs & manage risk in a fast-changing external environment
  • Understanding of financials, supply chain and pricing principles
